- Woke up early, got a jumpstart on other visitors

- Drove to Yosemite Nat'l Park - picnic lunch by creek
- Plenty of camping available even though Labor Day weekend is creeping up - found a site in the Tamarack Flat area - ate dinner, stored food in the bear box
- Drove up to White Wolf camp area for a group campfire - heard theories on the origin of "Yosemite" - history of US Nat'l Park system - read a skit together about differences in philosophies of Nat'l Parks + Nat'l Forests (conservationist vs. utilitarian, respectively)
- Learned this song (to tune of O Tannenbaum):
